Cloud backend and API integration
Ajima Innovation builds cloud backends, APIs and system integrations in Kathmandu, Nepal, for SaaS products and business software used in Nepal and abroad. We design the server side of your product and connect it to the third-party services and internal systems it depends on.
What we build
We build the cloud backend that sits behind a product, so that the product keeps working as the number of users grows. Each system is documented and supported after launch.
- APIs and integrations. Well-documented APIs, and connections to the third-party services your product depends on.
- Event-driven systems. We have particular experience with event-driven architecture for high-reliability, regulated domains such as healthcare communication.
- Data pipelines. Moving and shaping data so your team and your product can use it.
- Cloud migrations. Moving an existing system to the cloud with a plan, tests and a rollback path.
How a project runs
Every project starts with a first conversation, where we check that it is work we can do well. In discovery we agree the scope, assumptions and risks in writing, with written acceptance criteria for each feature. You then receive a written proposal with an estimate range, a timeline and the risks. Delivery runs in one- to two-week iterations, and each one ends with a demo or a written update. Every change is reviewed by a person, and every release is tested on a staging site first. Anything outside the signed scope becomes a change request with an estimate, and work starts only after you approve it. The whole path is described on the page about our software development process.
Technology
Node.js, PHP with Laravel, FastAPI and Django, Azure and other major clouds, message queues and containers.
Support after launch
A platform is never finished on launch day. We offer ongoing monitoring and updates on a monthly retainer, and every system comes with documentation and a runbook so the next engineer can pick it up. Every quote gives a range, includes testing, documentation, deployment and handover, and states what is out of scope.
Questions
- What is cloud backend development?
- It is the server-side part of a product: the APIs, databases and background processes that the web or mobile app talks to.
- Do you work in regulated industries?
- Yes. Our founder has built secure, scalable cloud systems for healthcare communication, a high-reliability, regulated field.
- Can you migrate our existing system to the cloud?
- Yes. Data pipelines and migrations to the cloud are part of our work.
- Which clouds do you use?
- Azure and other major clouds. We pick the one that fits your needs.
